Boat Rental for Anglers
Combine your stay at Hennesstrand Brygge with your own boat and explore some of Norway's richest sea fishing grounds. From 2027, all our boats are the same purpose-built model: a Kværnø 19 ft with a 50 hp Yamaha engine, Garmin chartplotter and GoFish GPS on board.
Simply add the boat to your cart when you book an apartment, and step straight from your doorstep onto the water. Boat rental is available each year from 1 April to 30 September. Please note: a minimum stay of 7 nights applies to both apartments and boats during this period.
Fully Equipped, Safety First
Every Kværnø 19 ft boat comes with a 50 hp Yamaha outboard, a Garmin chartplotter and echo sounder, and a GoFish GPS unit already installed. Emergency contact numbers and safety instructions are posted on board every boat.
Hennesstrand Brygge (org. no. 996599078) is a registered fishing tourism business, which means our guests are legally entitled to take their catch home when travelling out of Norway.
Catch Reporting & Safety with GoFish
Before every trip, the captain completes a safety check on mygofish.no, logging in with their phone number. After returning from the sea, the catch is reported the same way through GoFish.
When you check out of the boat and apartment together with us, we prepare your customs paperwork for the catch and send it to you by email.

Equipment & Boat Capacity
A gutting shed with two work benches is available for preparing your catch, along with a dedicated freezer for each apartment. For safety reasons, our boats are approved for a maximum of 4 people at a time.
Practical Information
Boat rental for fishing tourists is available every year from 1 April to 30 September. Simply add the Kværnø 19 ft boat as an add-on when you book your apartment - no separate booking is needed.

Fishing Rules & Export Quota
Recreational sea fishing north of 62°N follows Norway's minimum keep sizes - for example cod 55 cm, haddock 40 cm and halibut 84 cm - and only hand-held gear is allowed: rod, handline or jig. Selling your catch is not permitted; if you're ever in doubt about a fish's size, release it.
As Hennesstrand Brygge is a registered fishing tourism business, guests aged 12 and over may take up to 15 kg of fish per person home with them (dropping to 10 kg from 2027), up to twice a year. Every trip starts with a quick safety check in the GoFish app, and each day's catch (or a "zero catch" day) is logged the same way.
